Just A Quick Update on Asher
By CJ Mills on May 17, 2008 in asher, stress, vacation
After a terrible night of sleep, I have made it back to the condo with Jadyn and Andy where we are trying to give Andrea a few hours of peace and quiet. At this point, we don’t know a whole lot more than we did yesterday. Asher is in Charleston where he is receiving help with his breathing and undeveloped lungs. Our Doctor says that we probably won’t see much improvement with his lungs for 72 hours post birth.
I will try to update you all through this blog and my “What I Am Up To” section on the right. This will make it easier on us to keep everyone updated as cell service on the island is terrible. Here is how our yesterday looked like from my twitter feed:

Hi…been keeping up with what is going on. I am praying for all of you….It has to be tough with two different hospital locations! Tell Andrea if I could, I’d bring Monsoon Wedding and hang out! =] (She’ll understand!) I talked to Nancy about a half hour ago, she was in Tenn. and steadily making her way down to you! CJ, you are an AMAZING husband and father! I know this is a tough time for you too! Hang in there! Love you all! Tell Jadyn I love her and give her a big hug for me.

I work with Andy at the Allen Hunt Show. I had a baby 10 months ago. I can only imagine the stress and emotions you all are enduring. Please know I’m praying for your family.

Thank you all for your comments and prayers. It has been a long couple of days, but it makes it easier knowing we have friends and family back home praying for us.
Amy - thank you for your prayers!

Hi Mills Family,
So glad to hear that you are together again in Charleston. Was extremely glad to hear the good news about Asher. Will continue to pray that he will keep up the good work and will become stronger by the minute. I’m sure you are all very tired yet excited to be reunited with the little guy. Has Jadyn been able to see him yet?
I love all of you…..Grandma Sherck

As I read further I am amazed at your chaos around Asher’s birth. Wow! A lazy vacation turns into a delivery. Asher looks so good and weighs so much - which is great. My Weatherly only weighted 3 lb 2 oz, 14 in long and dropped down to 2 lb 10 oz. I am so proud to see Asher bottle feed (that was a crying moment for me when Weatherly finally got that one) and to see him get the tube out. What awesome accomplishments!
I can still see some of Weatherly’s IV scars and surgery scars - what great reminders of how Awesome our God is!!!
