iPhone enabled Visual Trademark Blog!
By CJ Mills on Jun 4, 2008 in creative chaos, technology
If you are a mobile device user, you may have already noticed that VisualTrademark.com is a “mobile enabled” blog. What this means is that if you were to go to “www.visualtrademark.com” on a web enabled phone,
you would see a “weight watchers” version of the site you are currently at. If you are viewing it on anything other than an apple product, you’ll see a white page with plain text. Why? Because it loads much quicker and is easier to read on a screen smaller than your palm. As a gift to those of you iPhone and iPod touch users, you now can have the Visual Trademark Blog Application right on your phone and be at the new mobile version (as seen below) with one touch of the special VisualTrademark.com application icon.
This is what the new application icon looks like on your iPhone or iPod Touch:

Now why would I post something that provides hard proof that I am a nerd? Well, because I love it when things work the way they should. I’m on the go quite a bit and not always able to sit down at my computer to view the sites I check out on a regular basis. It is such a pain to try and load a full blown website on my Palm Treo with no wifi assistance. Then, once it is loaded, it is completely impossible to navigate my way around the page with such a small screen. Web enabled plugins solve both issues! My next step is to tweak the iPhone plugin to apply to all web enabled devices as I like the look and feel of that much better than the ugly and boring look of the standard plugin (if any of you get there first, let me know!).
So if you are a fellow blogger, please install the following plugins to your site so I can read it while on the road. If you find a better plugin, let me know. Note these only apply to wordpress hosted blogs.

Oooooo, nice. This looks very nice on my iPhone. I need to buy some server space and run my blog from there so I can upload cool plugins like this on mine.

Hey Dude,
I’m working on my own site right now, and I installed these two plugins on my server. Where do you put your visual trademark logo to show up there?
That’s a favicon right?
thanks!

@Adam - create a 45×45 png file, name it ‘apple-touch-icon’ and save it to your root folder…the iPhone does the rest.
