Two Months Old Today

Things I have learned since Asher was born:

1) I need God’s grace more than I think I do.

2) My wife is one amazing, patient, and loving woman.

3) There is no way for me to have control in all situations.

4) Having two kids is WAY harder than having one kid.

5) There are a lot of people around us who care deeply for us.

Who knew I could learn so much from a baby born 10 weeks early….What have you learned lately?

    I have learned it is a privilge to be able care of Gavin they way that we do.

    That my 3 year old daughter is sometimes smarter than I am.

    I need to start looking at God the way Madison does.

    and I’ll piggy back on you and say that Karen is probably most amazing woman & mother I know.

    I have been relearning that God’s grace and love is never deserved but always freely given and that His desire is for us to abandon ourselves to Him and receive what He abudantly offers.

    I love that picture dude. Have a good two-month birthday. The boy is looking good and strong and that is much to be thankful for.

    And PS, you should have known this. Everybody knows this: “Having two kids is WAY harder than having one kid.” ;-)

    @Adam » Don’t you love how little kids teach us so much?

    @Nancy » a lesson well re-learned!

    @Andy » Ok, let me clarify…. I knew that having two kids would be more WORK, but didn’t expect it to be harder than adjusting to have a kid after not having one for so long. What’s an extra kid, right? WRONG!

    I’ve learned that God’s timing is better than my timing. I have to remind myself of that as Jonathan and I wait for a child to adopt.

    I’ve also learned to appreciate each day God gives me and find the joy in the simple things.

    Those are some great lessons. I guess God really has to pull out all the stops to teach you stuff, huh? ;-)

    Lately I’ve learned to acknowledge God more in my day-to-day life and rely less on my own understanding. Wait a minute, isn’t that in the Bible?

    @ckroboth » That’s a great lesson!

    @Alyson » As a male, timing is a hard thing for me to learn.

    @Brad » I think you might be right about that whole bible thing.
