Middle School Flashback - POGS!
By CJ Mills on Aug 29, 2008 in random

My mom and dad have given Jadyn her own play room at their house, and as a result, I had to come over and go through all my stuff that I left there. As I was going through baseball cards and posters of Ryne Sandberg, I came across my vast collection of Pogs. Anyone remember this classic game from middle school? You and your opponent(s) would each place on of your own pogs in a pile, and then you would take turns throwing their “slammer” - which was either thick plastic or metal - on the top of the stack. Whatever pogs flipped over as a result of the slammer through, you would keep (click here for video).
I had a sick collection of these things and thought it would be fun to bring back some of my childhood for Jadyn to enjoy. We had a lot of fun playing pogs, until Jadyn realized they were all different styles and started to line them up and “organize” them - typical girl!

OH,POGS! I played with these things all the time. I had one of those containers that you put them all in. Then you had all of those special slammers too.
Man, those were the days.

I completely forgot about pogs until I read this! Lots of good memories. Now, even though I am a girl, I had a poster of Ryne Sandberg and the Bulls, I am a die hard sports fan from Chicago. GO CUBS!

I was a big pog fan. Never had a great slammer though… Those metal ones were sweet compared to my light, plastic one…
Good memories…

@Brook » I agree, which is why I had to go out and buy a few metal slammers and an “investment” back in the day.
@Andy » with as many times as we see each other in a year, I thin I can use the “run into each other” line….
