My Baby’s Baby?

Jadyn loves her mother - I mean LOVES her mother.  When Andrea sweeps, Jadyn sweeps with her little broom.  When Andrea vacuums, Jadyn vacuums with her mini-vac.  When Andrea makes pizza, Jadyn makes pizza in her own kitchen.  It is all quite cute.

With Asher home for a while now, Jadyn has a whole new role to mimic - that of a mother.  Jadyn has 5+ baby dolls that she rotates, carrying them just like Mommy does with Asher.  Feeding them bottles, putting them in Asher’s swing and making them take naps.  She is such a lover, and will make a wonderful mother some day.

Last night, I found Jadyn asleep with her Mini Minnie Mouse doll…laying chest to chest (like we do with Asher)…blanket covering both of them up.

I wish my imagination and passion was still that pure.  It saddens me to know that eventually, the world will tell her that pretending is “stupid” and beat the passion out of her…and when that happens, she’ll have this picture to come back to…

    Awesome. Great post man.

    I swear the best naps I have taken in my life are the ones with Asher and Jadyn lying on my chest.

    Although on a side note, Andrea seemed a lot more willing to let me take naps with Asher than Jadyn. I am pretty sure by your third child, I can take him/her home with me and nobody is going to notice ;)

    Man, you’ve been taking some of the most precious pictures of your family lately. That Jadyn is so cute. I love this picture.

    I’ll be praying that she still keeps that simple, child-like sense of imagination and wonder her whole life. That’s what I pray for myself and my kids every day.

    CJ,
    You are SO RIGHT about Jadyn loving her mommy and wanting to mimic her…….I have to tell you something I am sure you already know though, she also ADORES you! The other day when I went shopping with Andrea and Jadyn she told me as we were sitting in the toy section at Kohl’s (while holding a baby doll) that we were going to “have to go home soon to see daddy and make him some supper!” Then she looked at me with that “face” and in this sweet 2 year old voice said “I love my daddy.” She then kissed the store baby doll, put it back on the shelf, patted it, said “night, night lil’ fella” and took off, telling me as she went, “c’mon Brooke, let’s go find mommy!” I LOVE that kid! =]

    @Andy Borgmann » I think you are on to something here…. shoot, Andrea even left the house with you and Asher alone! She mentioned the same thing while you were here…how different it is now that we have already been through things with the first one.

    @tam » Thanks, Tam! I appreciate it!

    @Brad » what can I say, my kids make it easy.
