Another Blog Rendezous - Brad Ruggles
By CJ Mills on Sep 29, 2008 in blogging, friends, life

This past Friday I got a call from Brad Ruggles, indicating that he was in town for the weekend and wanted to connect. Shortly after work, I headed up to meet him at the national blog meeting place - Star Bucks. Our time was short, but very filling. Brad was one of my first Blog Crushes, if you will. I found his blog right around the time I started to blog as a result of a common friend - Pat Rowland. I’ve enjoyed connecting with him through our various life situations and was happy to finally meet up. I have no doubt that we’ll be running into each other in the near future as he is only a few hours away.
Meeting Brad brings my “meeting-random-blog-friends” total to two. My first visit was with Mocha, who is now experiencing amazing things in Paris right now. As I was driving home, I came up with a list of my top 5 Blog Crushes. By “Blog Crush” I mean an individual that has had an impact on me in some way, shape or form. The list consist of people I have never met and probably would had never met outside of the blogging community.
1) The Hodges - Brent and Tam. These two have great blogs and have been a great support during our dealings with Asher. Spending some time with them would be a blast.
2) Brody Harper and Randy Hicks - I know this is cheating, but I put the two together due to their company, Skorinc. Both have very cool blogs and seem to be like guys you could easily hang out with. A big thing for me is music and both share my same style.
3) Pete Wilson - Pete pastors Cross Point church, a growing church in Nashville. His blog is one of my daily reads. I love what he is doing in Nashville and how real is he with everyone on his blog.
4) Adam Owens - Adam seems like a guy I could easily get along with. I connected with Adam around the time Asher was born. Since then, we’ve connected easily. His wife has a great blog as well.
5) Carlos Whittaker - How could I not put this guy on the list. He is extremely honest about all aspects of his life. He has an incredible following and a great blog.
We’ll see if I can slowly knock a few off the list here and there….

It was fun to finally meet you even though, as you said, we didn’t even come close to having enough time to talk. We’re close enough so I know we’ll be seeing each other again.

CJ, it would be awesome!
As we get the opportunity to travel, we are constantly looking around where we are going to see “who” is in the area.
You will definitely be on our list as well.

Dude it would be awesome to hang out with you and your family. I think our girls would have a blast playing with each other.
Hopefully it will happen at some point.

Tam - that is something I’m used to. We have kids and people want to see them, not us…its ok, we’re cool with that.
Adam - I’m sure you are right. Something tells me that our girls would have fun together.

Actually Clayton, you were on my Top 5 with Carlos, seriously! I couldn’t figure out a way to put the two of you together like I did Brody and Randy…

If you’re ever in the Basin of the Sun (PHX) we can have a blog rendezvous… just hit me up.
Curious, did you put on a tie and dress shirt to impress Bruggles or do you have to dress up for work?

dude, I would love that. I’m sure I’ll be in PHX in the near future on business at least. That would be awesome.
No, I did not dress up for Brad (he wishes). I wear a shirt and tie to work almost every day. Haha.
